Four immigrant college students are walking 1,500 miles from Miami, Fla. to Washington, D.C in support of The Dream Act and immigration reform. If passed, the Dream Act will allow undocumented immigrant kids living in the United States to attend college and serve in the military; as long as they’ve stayed in school and out of the trouble. The four-month journey ends May 1 at an immigration reform rally in our nation’s capital. In early April four Latinos from New York joined the effort and will meet in D.C.
Y-Press met up with a group of young Indianapolis Latinos walking in solidarity with the students. As both documented and undocumented students walked in downtown Indianapolis, they shared their own stories.
