In October of 2009, seven Y-Press journalists and a few adult mentors went a reporting trip in the Paris suburbs. Please checkout the blog to follow their reports.

 We’ll be blogging daily about everything under the Parisian sun –from sights and sounds to more serious issues of the Paris suburbs.

Our in-depth coverage will look at the situation in the suburbs and the underlying causes and reactions to 2005 and 2007 unrest and its effect on youth in area. Tensions in the suburbs still exist today, maybe more since recent economic troubles and shortage of jobs.

We’ll talk with young Parisians to learn firsthand from both immigrant and non-immigrant youth how things have changed.
