Remy (voiced by Patton Oswalt) is a little rat who dreams of becoming a chef just like his idol, the human Gusteau (voiced by Brad Garrett).
After a mishap, Remy loses his family in the sewers and comes upon a fading restaurant that had previously been owned by Gusteau before his untimely death. He comes upon a lowly garbage boy, Linguini (voiced by Lou Romano), and together they set out to revive the once-legendary restaurant.
Ratatouille is yet another smashing success from Pixar Studios. The film is filled with surprises and unexpected twists and turns. The food was so delectable that by the end I was practically starving. I have to say that the best scene is when the food critic, Anton Ego (voiced by Peter O’ Toole) tastes Remy’s Ratatouille. The computer animation is vibrant and stunning and there is plenty of action, yet is the way that director/writer Brad Bird brings the characters together to create an extremely heartwarming film. In a sense, Ratatouille is a story about going beyond preconceived boundaries and following your heart.
All in all, Ratatouille is a fun and entertaining film the whole family will love. The chefs at Pixar have blended all the right ingredients – plenty of verbal and visual wit, genius slapstick timing, and French sophistication – resulting in the ultimate delightful concoction.
