Are you tired of being that kid who's always left on the outside of any conversation or group activity? Jose Juan Cruz was before he joined YouthBiz in Denver. The organization was founded in Denver's Five-Points neighborhood by an adult activist and eight teens in 1992. YouthBiz has many programs to offer, including classes that teach teens how to run their own businesses.

While seasoned politicians resort to kissing babies or begging for corporate contributions to gain a national audience, a 15-year-old simply wrote 434 powerful words. Those words propelled her to a coveted speaking spot during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul at 6:30 p.m. today.
Student club holds the 'Key' to service

Every other Friday during the school year, Ben Davis High School Key Club students have a sure way to get support for their club's community service projects: They appeal to the stomach. The club's doughnut sale draws hordes of students within minutes of opening. The group pulls in $100 every time, which adds up to $1,800 a year.
